Following Gareth Southgate's exit from the England national team after their defeat in the Euro 2024 final against Spain, the Football Association are in the process of selecting a new permanent manager. Guardiola has been linked with the Three Lions' job as the FA are reportedly keen on appointing an overseas coach. The Catalan coach had earlier given a vague answer when asked about the England job, and during his latest press conference, the 53-year-old refused to rule out the prospect and noted that "we'll see what happens".

In the press conference, the City boss told reporters when asked about taking over as England manager: "I am here. I'm really pleased and I cannot say anything. I don't know where it came from but I am really satisfied here and we will see what happens. I am desperate for when the players are ready to come back to start to train together and what we have to do."
