Mullin has endeared himself to a passionate fan base in North Wales – while club co-owner Ryan Reynolds remains a big fan – and the 28-year-old hopes that his account for 2023-24 will soon be opened after recovering from a punctured lung suffered during Wrexham’s summer tour of America.

WHAT THEY SAID

Speaking on season two of the Welcome to Wrexham documentary that has offered the League Two outfit a window to the world, Mullin said of his now instantly recognisable goal celebration: “Every time I score now, I’m going to make an ‘A’ sign for Albi. But also, it’s quite cool like an ‘A’ for autism as well. So whatever people want it to be for them, that’s perfect. Obviously for me, it’s for my little boy.”

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Mullin revealed in January that his son Albi had been diagnosed with autism, making that a cause that is now close to his heart. He has registered 79 goals in total for Wrexham through 98 appearances, with Player of the Year honours secured last season alongside a contract extension, all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas and talk of a call-up to the Wales national team being enjoyed.
