Per multiple accounts on social media, James has been spotted wearing Wrexham's training kit. James is a free agent after leaving Bristol City at the end of the 2023-24 season, but could now have found a new home in Wales.

James is a vastly experienced Football League campaigner who has played for the likes of Preston North End, Leicester City, Barnsley and Coventry, along with Bristol City. He came through the ranks at United, but he never made a first-team appearance for the club.
