Newcastle want to reward Gordon with a new contract after his impressive campaign last season, that prompted Liverpool to show an interest signing the 23-year-old. The former Everton man grabbed 11 goals and 10 assists in 35 Premier League games while also featuring for England at Euro 2024.

Gordon was reportedly close to a shock transfer to Liverpool in July as Newcastle desperately scrambled to avoid punishment due to PSR violations. Discussions were held over a deal worth around £60 million ($67m) but the transfer fell through after Newcastle sold Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson instead.
